Rudbeckia hirta
This variety grows wild here all around the farm: it is a hardy native perennial here that thrives in most soils, especially dry ones! They bloom from June onwards, until the frosts. They are great for our native pollinators.
Once established they will resow themselves. An absolutely beautiful wildflower to have on ones property.
100+ seed per pack
Seed starting:
I broadcast these seed a few weeks before the snow melts - they need cool wet temperatures to germinate. I let nature work its magic. I direct sow them directly onto the snow where I'd like them to grow (alternatively you can also broadcast them in the fall). If you don't have snow, direct sow them as soon as your soil can be worked in the spring.
Once these are established they should self-sow!
