This variety goes back to at least the early 1900s. Black gem bachelor's buttons yields dark purple flowers that dry relatively well. They are incredibly drought resistant. These are extremely rare !

Seed starting
Direct seed in the garden at about 1/4inch depth, 2-3 weeks before last frost in the spring (or as soon as soil can be worked).
