Glycine maxima

This variety was introduced in the 90s by Johnny's Selected Seeds.  It is a great variety for our Northern climate as it matures in about 90 days. The plants reach about 2 feet in height, normal size for soybeans - there are about two to three seeds per pod. Extremely tasty with thin skins.

Seed starting 

For bush beans, pole beans, runner beans, soybeans. 

Direct seed in your garden once all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Beans do not tolerate frost. Early June is when we plant around here. Sow seed about 1” deep. Darker coloured seeds tend to germinate better in cooler soils. 

Pole beans and runner beans need something to climb!
