Blue Coco Pole Bean
Blue Coco Pole Bean
Phaseolus vulgaris.
Pole bean. also known as Purple Pod and Blue Podded Pole. That's a tongue twister.
This beans produced marvellously and the purple pods are quite long and striking! This is a very rare variety that dates back to France in 1775. The young pods are great as snap beans, and the dry beans are good and meaty. It's an excellent variety for short season climates like our own (early variety), and it is very hardy and adaptable.
Days to Maturity: 60 days for snap beans.
30 seeds per pack.
Seed starting:
For bush beans, pole beans and runner beans.
Direct seed in your garden once all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Beans do not tolerate frost. Early June is when we plant around here. Sow seed about 1” deep. Darker coloured seeds tend to germinate better in cooler soils.
Pole beans and runner beans need something to climb!
We live and garden on ancestral territory of Algonquin Anishnaabeg People, forever territory of wild fauna & flora, cultivated lands of Irish and French settlers, and now beloved home of the junco seeds family (humans, chickens, dogs, sheep and cats)
