Annual, Open-Pollinated.

This is the basil most of you know from the grocery store or farmer's markets - it is our beloved Pesto basil. Genovese basil has lush almost succulent green leaves. It is an old Italian heirloom from the Genoa region. 

Days to maturity: 70 

approximately 100 seeds per pack. 

Seed starting:

Start indoors 4-5 weeks before last frost (depends on your region). Basil loves heat - scatter seed on soil and lightly cover.  Pot them up once they start to grow, and transplant outdoors when the soil has warmed. I love to mulch mine lightly with some good straw.
