Annual Plant, open pollinated.
Pole bean. Dry bean. Snap bean.
Rare seed.
This is a rare heirloom seed that is both productive and disease resistant, cultivated by the Iroquois First Nations of Kahnawake, in Québec. Green young pods are harvested young as snap beans, and the seed are used in baking.
Days to maturity: 75 days for snap beans.
25 seeds per pack.
Seed starting:
For bush beans, pole beans and runner beans.
Direct seed in your garden once all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed. Beans do not tolerate frost. Early June is when we plant around here. Sow seed about 1” deep. Darker coloured seeds tend to germinate better in cooler soils.
Pole beans and runner beans need something to climb!
We live and garden on ancestral territory of Algonquin Anishnaabeg People, forever territory of wild fauna & flora, cultivated lands of Irish and French settlers, and now beloved home of the junco seeds family (humans, chickens, dogs, sheep and cats)
