Tagetes patula

Marigolds are spectacular plants that are easy to grow and so fragrant. This French variety is compact and bushy, bearing single golden flowers with maroon blotches at their centre. They love full sun, and are drought tolerant. Said to have been introduced by Burpee's seed in the late 1800s. Flowers all summer long and grows to a height of approximately 1 foot.

Seed starting

Start indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost - cover your seed lightly with soil and keep warm until the seedlings emerge. Transplant outside once all danger of frost has passed.
