Biennial plant, Open pollinated.
Also known as Veitch's Red Globe
Well known and widely used turnip variety from the 1800s. Creamy white with distinct purple shoulders. They are best harvested at 3-4 inches in diameter, and have sweet white flesh. They also store very well.

Seed starting
Directly plant outside - sow thinly at 1/4inch deep depth as soon as soil can be worked. Space young plants 3-4 inches apart.
